Punk in the kitchen. This is a mini documentary of Stephen Harris a former punk and now head chef of the michelin starred gastro pub, The Sportsman. I worked freelance for The Telegraph and shot, edited and graded this piece. The video details his journey to becoming a chef and how music has influenced his cooking. It was shot on location in Seasalter, Whitstable and shows him picking seaweed from the local beach and he emphasises why it is so important to him to cook great food but keep it simple. The video was shot on a Sony FS7 using Zeiss Distagon lenses, edited in Premiere Pro CC and graded in Davinci Resolve.
Why do you deserve to win?
I am particularly proud of this piece because I single handedly shot, edited and graded the whole project. It was shot over 2 days I was working under a very small budget so I had to take on all 3 roles of shooter, editor and colourist with very tight time restraints. The video went down very well with all of the editorial staff at The Telegraph and the Sportsman were also really happy with the final result. It became the featured video on the Telegraph culture and pages.
