“- Hey! Let’s met tomorrow!
– Somewhere not too far from my work.
– It’s too far for me!
– Let’s find a place halfway…”
It’s always hard to gather everybody in one place.
Family reunions, meetings with long-distance friends, holidays with cousins… how can you please everybody and find the right distance between them?
Amichemin is a tool app which let you know where you can meet your friends halfway. This middle point is calculated by finding the center of gravity for the places in the addresses list. After saving your contacts, you can select all the friends you want to invite and Amichemin shows you some midway locations.
Very few functions, for a very simple tool :
– add a list of your friends’ addresses
– calculate the middle point between a selection of friends
– send a notification to the concerned friends when you find the right place
– find things to do and place to stay in this middle point
– save your different groups of friends in a list of maps
Why do you deserve to win?
What is particularly interesting about this project is that I created it in the moment, directly when I was in front of the situation. Because once the problem was met, the desire was to solve it immediately. I did not necessarily go directly to an interface solution, but during the study I realized that this need was rather punctual but also recurrent. So it was corresponding to a specific tool, such as a mobile application. The challenge was to design this project in a few hours. This constraint made the application SIMPLE. Few features, so few chances for the user to go wrong. Like all UX projects, the process was as important and interesting as the result. I adopted the methods of wireframing, user journey and “quick and dirty » prototypes for live testing with different solutions. To finish, the UI was a pleasant part because I wanted to make it gamified and colorful.
