I self-published a boat the beginning of 2017. A book with the aim of sharing my experience as a creative designer in the corporate world and as a freelancer. From the enthusiasm of starting a career from scratch to even overcoming a burnout that lasted for years.
I went through many struggles, as many designers do.
I wrote this book not expecting to sell it and becoming a best-selling author. I wrote this book to help people who to avoid the mistakes I made.
“This is why I don’t care about selling my book” is the article I wrote where I explain the story of a friend who read my book and managed to exit the scarcity situation he was experiencing and how he managed to land a great job.
The post got many reactions and even sold several books thanks to it.
Why do you deserve to win?
There are many people out there deserving to win. I am not better than any other designer or writer. I am sharing this piece because we designers usually help brands to sell their products, although this time, with this article and sharing my story I am helping other creative people to keep their passion alive.
On the other hand, after this post, and ironically, the sales of the book boomed and I got featured as the number one book when going freelance by Creative Boom.
